Pat Riehecky works at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. He is part of the Scientific Linux team and works on systems that perform Data Acquisition for various experiments at Fermilab.
Officially Pat began working with the CentOS Community when Fermilab decided to use CentOS 8 as its EL8 base platform.
Longer
Pat Riehecky holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Illinois Wesleyan University and a M.A. in Historical and Systematic Theology from Wheaton College.
He has been active in various Linux/Unix clubs going back to 2001 where he was a member of the Unix Hobbyists And Coders Club meeting at both IWU and ISU.
In 2011 he joined the Scientific Linux team at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory where he has acted as Release Manager and informal collaborator with various members of the CentOS Project. Scientific Linux and CentOS have common goals and common problems, so this is a natural fit. He has also provided packages and feedback to EPEL and ELRepo.
Pat is a passionate believer in Open Source software and contributes to a number of projects.
