Overview
Centbot is a supybot-limnoria instance connected to the Libera Chat IRC network to assist in supporting the CentOS IRC community.
Centbot recognizes several command 'triggers' to answer some of the more frequently asked questions that may occur in the channel.
Centbot functions by watching the various channels it is on and looking for these triggers and then displaying the information when it detects one. For example if you wanted to see the End Of Life date for the CentOS-6 release you could send
@c6eol
to the channel and centbot will reply with the EOL date along with the time remaining until that date is reached.
The list of triggers is constantly in flux with more triggers being added on a continuing basis. An up-to-date list of the current triggers is available by privately querying the bot:
/msg centbot @listaliases
You will note the more messages text at the end of the list; this indicates that the bot has more information to display but will wait until asked to do so. This can be accomplished by:
/msg centbot @more
This can be repeated until all the information is displayed.
To see what an individual trigger will display you can send it privately:
/msg centbot @c6eol
Suggestions of additional triggers to be added or updates to the existing set of triggers may be addressed to any of the IRC nicks listed via:
